Retrofitted Polystyrene Insulation to Beat Summer Heat

Retrofitted insulation may be the solution to your sweltering hot warehouse! Warehouses are much more susceptible to extreme temperature changes than the average building. Often they also are very large buildings, making them difficult and expensive to heat or cool. Typically, warehouses are roofed with radiant heat materials like Colourbond steel sheet, which further adds to the stifling summer heat indoors.

Happily, the answer is a relatively cheap and simple - retrofitting polystyrene panel insulation.

After a belting hot summer earlier this year at their Osborne Park premises, Fluid Connectors needed a more efficient and cost-effective solution to keep their warehouse cool over the coming summer.

75mm polystyrene panels fitted in the existing roof structure have already made a significant difference in radiant heat reduction, according to the team at Fluid Connectors. Because the panels can be cut to size and are lightweight, installation is a quick and easy job and poses no on-site hazard either during or after installation. Coupled with improved ventilation, the new insulation has gone in just in time, ready for the summer. Judging from the smiles in this photo below, the guys are pretty darn happy about it!
