Closed Cell Foam

Closed cell foam products are used in commercial, industrial and construction applications, and for home use too.

The term Closed Cell Foam traditionally encompass Flexible Foamand Semi-Rigid Foam types. Because of their stable, closed cell structure these products are effective thermal insulators when in sheet form. The high thermal resistance of trapped air in the foam cells makes closed cell foam sheets effective barriers to transmission of heat and cold. This closed cell characteristic also means that these products are waterproof.

Flexible and Semi-Rigid Foam

The term Closed Cell Foam traditionally encompasses Flexible Foam and Semi-Rigid Foam types. Flexible and semi-rigid closed cell foams are in turn comprised of two main category types: Polyethylene Foams (EPE, PE and XPE), and Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA).

All these foams are flexible, elastic, light weight, buoyant (EPE excepted), stable, inert and durable, making them useful for both comfort and protection. Uses  include shock absorbing and vibration dampening and cushioning, impact absorption, product protection and packaging, thermal insulation, and for acoustic sound attenuation.
