We all know New Year's resolutions rarely make it past January. That's why there's no time like the present to take action, clean up, and get your house in order for 2016. Whether you're renovating or simply sprucing up, we've put together a few suggestions to take your home from drab to fab this January ...
Set up a home gym
If you're the kind of person who joins the gym and actually goes, good for you. If you're like the rest of us, you know darn well you're not going to go, so why not save the membership money and set yourself up at home instead? You don't need a lot of equipment to keep your body in shape. A fit ball, a mat, weight balls and a pilates ring will get you started. The best bit - once you've bought them, you don't have to pay to keep using them! If you need some guidance in your exercise routine, try this great 30 minute pilates work out.
Convert the spare room to a guest room
You know that room - the small one you always meant to turn into a guest room, but is actually full of old junk. Now's the time. Clear out the junk, sorting into KEEP, FRIENDS and CHARITY piles. If you have an entrepreneurial streak, sell whatever you can't keep on Gumtree. Gumtree is also a great place to find a bed for the room, and Foam Sales has you covered with our great range of foam mattresses. Then all you need is bedding, and Aunty Mabel can finally come to stay!
Create an outdoor living space
In our climate, we spend a lot of the year outside, so it's worth creating a space that you enjoy being in. Give the garden a bit of love this year, and consider replacing old or faded cushions with new ones cut to fit your outdoor setting. Or, go all out and put in a daybed for long afternoons spent lounging by the pool.
