Foam Sales NBR (Nitrile Rubber) sheeting is a flexible, synthetic sponge rubber copolymer. This NBR sheet is a pliable, resilient closed cell material with excellent elongation properties. It is used for both thermal and sound insulation, and for low pressure gaskets and seals. The sheet is black in colour with smooth skin on both sides that forms the outer exposed insulation surface.
The expanded closed-cell structure of Foam Sales NBR makes it an efficient thermal insulation material, ideal for cabinets, larger pipes, fittings, duct-work, vessels and curved/irregular surfaces. NBR is effective as thermal insulation for temperatures ranging from -40 to +100C. In case of fire the product is self-extinguishing when removed from the flame source.
NBR sheet is also used for sound insulation to line engine boxes and bays, including in marine applications where buoyant closed cell foams are required. For applications requiring superior levels of sound absorption see our high density acoustic insulation sheets.
Foam Sales' NBR has excellent resistant to grease, mineral and vegetable oils, petrol and diesel fuel, and to solvents. It is resistant to alcohol, and to weak acids; more-so than natural rubbers. It is attacked by ozone, ketones, esters and aldehydes, and has poor resistance to weathering.
These NBR variants are sold off the roll by the linear metre, or in full rolls at 20% discount.
