Foam Sales supplies custom-made foam products for pipe and tube applications, including purge dams, purge plugs and foam pigs. While often grouped together, each serves a different purpose depending on the application:
Purge Dams: Used in pipe and tube welding to isolate the weld zone and help reduce purge gas consumption.
Purge Plugs: Used to block or restrict flow through pipe openings.
Foam Pigs: Used for pipeline maintenance, including cleaning, drying and displacing liquids.
Made from flexible open-cell (23-200) and closed-cell foam, our custom foam products can be manufactured to suit your application and dimensions.
Custom Sizes & Options
Our foam purge dams can be made to your required diameter and width, with optional components to suit your needs:
PE30 10 mm Cap: Provides an additional barrier to help prevent harmful welding gases from passing through the purge dam.
Rope and Metal Base: Assists with positioning, handling and retrieval inside the pipe.
To order, enter your required diameter and width in millimetres, select your preferred options and add any additional specifications in the notes field.
As a general guide, purge dams are typically made a few millimetres larger than the pipe's internal diameter, depending on the foam construction and application. Please enter a diameter 2–5 mm larger than the internal diameter of your pipe to allow for a close fit. The appropriate allowance depends on the foam type and application.
